Some things about me (Connor, that photographer guy).

Hey! So if you’ve found your way to this part of the website you must of dove pretty deep. Great to hear, nice to meet ya! This is a just a little post for us to get know each other a little better and for you to read some (hopefully) interesting facts about me! If that’s not your cup of tea, totally cool - you can find plenty of other great articles and posts back on the ‘All Posts’ section of my blog that aren’t me, myself and I. Otherwise read on and learn some random things about me, Connor (that photographer guy who’s website you clicked on).

Right, ok! Let’s start at the beginning. I was born and have grown up in Perth, having lived here for most of my life. When I was a kid, my parents bought a camper trailer and together with my little brother, we drove the whole way around Australia, across 15 months. We were home-schooled for that time (my Dad made a great teacher!) and travelled all over the country. It was one of the most amazing, eye-opening heart-filling adventures I have been on, and it’s what gave me the travel bug bad. During our travels, we visited the most remote corners of our beautiful country and met some amazing people. I will never forget camping in far north Queensland and hear crocodiles thrashing around at night in the lake nearby or being caught in a thunderstorm so bad in Kalgoorlie that our tent leaked and drenched everything.

But what I love most about these travels are the lessons my parents taught me. The trip was a long time planning and saving and they put a whole lot of damn hard work in to make a reality. They saved for years and my Mum worked in various towns as we travelled along (my Dad was on long-service leave and our home-school teacher). It was one of their biggest life long goals to do this and it showed me that I also need to go out and chase my dreams, no matter how long it takes. It’s why I quit that boring office job 3 years ago and decided to pursue my love for photography and people wholeheartedly and without reserve.

So when I’m there photographing your wedding or your family or whatever you’ve asked me to do, know that this work sets my soul ablaze and I am doing it with all heart.

Wow, ok so that was a heavier paragraph then I intended to start this off with but here we are. Hmm, what else can I tell you? I’ve been married coming up two years to my amazing wife Hollie, and we’ve been together for eight years. We have one son, Theo, who just turned one, and we are expecting our second son in a few weeks (yes, life is gonna be a whole lot more crazy!). Being a Dad is an amazing thing and as manic as life has been the past 12 months I wouldn’t change it for the world. I can’t wait to pass the travel bug onto my kid(s)… big adventures here we come! Our other baby is our rescue dog Matso, who is a big gangly mix of Blue Heeler, Staffy, Shar-pei and Rottweiler. He’s the biggest sook and is terrified of the ocean (but loves the beach!).

Other fun facts about me include cheese, I LOVE CHEESE. Oh and bread. I LOVE BREAD (well most carbs in general). Give me pizza and you have my heart for life (that’s pretty much how Hollie wooed me back when we were 17). In my spare time, I love to cook and bake and make things to share with friends and family. I’m the guy who will bring cake ‘cause why the hell not (?!) and will ask you for that recipe that blows my mind. Last year I was asked to be a contestant on the next season of Great Australian Bake-Off (heartbreaking-ly I had to say no, as life was just a little too crazy with a new-born son and a business to run.. one day though!).

Where would I love to see my business go? Right now, I would love to keep meeting more and more couples who are soon to be married and capture their special days. There is nothing like shooting a wedding, the way it makes my heart feel so full when I go home at the end of the night and when I get to hand deliver completed packages full of memories to my clients.

I would LOVE to meet more clients who are getting married overseas or somewhere across Australia and would also love to work with more commercial clients, photographing food and styled product shoots (one of my goals is to have my work featured in delicious. magazine!).

So I think I’ve blabbered on enough about myself here - I hope you found it interesting. I would love to hear from you about what you found interesting and if you love photography, love to travel or love cheese. Any adventures planned soon? Email or DM me on Instagram and tell me about it! I could take alllllll day.

Until next time,

Connor :)
